BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Patriot League has announced that senior attackman
Brian Minicus and freshman goalkeeper
Matt LaCombe are recipients of the League's weekly honors.
In Colgate's only game last week Minicus paced the offense for the Raiders in the 11-8 victory over the U.S. Air Force Academy. Minicus scored two goals and had a career single-game high six assists in the contest. Of the six assists, five either tied the game or put Colgate ahead, including a helper on the game winning goal scored by Rory Connor that capped a Raider comeback from a two-goal deficit.Â
LaCombe was a stalwart in the Raider net making 19 saves and allowing only eight goals for a .704 save percentage. LaCombe shut out the Falcons in the all-important fourth quarter making seven saves. He allowed only two second half goals.
Face off specialist Thomas Colucci received honorable mention from the League for his dominating face off performance. Colucci won 17 of 20 faceoffs and scooped up 11 ground balls.
