Colgate Falls to Binghamton

Eliza Farriss added two more goals to her team-leading total

HAMILTON, N.Y. – Once again it was a tale of two halves for Colgate on Wednesday evening at Andy Kerr Stadium. 

The Raiders (0-2) trailed visiting Binghamton (1-1) 4-2 at the end of the first half of play after a back and forth two quarters, but the Bearcats outscored Colgate 10-2 over the final 30 minutes of the game for a 14-4 victory. 

Eliza Farriss scored a pair of goals to increase her team-leading goals total to five for the young season. 

Catie Lang and Sarah Harding also each scored a goal in defeat. 

Binghamton struck first with a goal eight minutes into the game and took a 2-0 lead three minutes later, but Colgate climbed right back into it when Farris netted her first goal of the game with 7:23 remaining in the first quarter. Harding's goal came 5:30 minutes into the second quarter and knotted the score at 2-2. 

The Bearcats scored the final two goals of the first half and proceeded to outscore Colgate 6-0 in the third quarter and 4-2 in the fourth quarter.

Colgate wraps up the season-opening three-game homestand when they welcome UAlbany to Crown Field at Andy Kerr Stadium on Saturday. Opening faceoff is scheduled for 3 p.m.
