Siena Tops Colgate 5-2

Ben-Shmuel pulls out wins in both singles and doubles

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – In the matinee of a Colgate tennis doubleheader at Drumlins Tennis Club on Sunday, the Colgate women came up short to the Siena Saints by a score of 5-2. First-year Jordan Ben-Shmuel claimed victory in both singles and doubles for the second consecutive day. 
 
Siena took four of six singles points with victories at no. 1, 4, 5 and 6. Colgate's Emme Levenson defeated Emma Boggiali in a tough three-setter (7-5, 3-6, 10-4) at no. 2 and Ben-Shmuel bested Nanea Perkins (6-2, 6-1) at the no. 3 spot. 
 
Siena came away with the doubles point with victories at no. 2 and 3. The Raiders' no. 1 tandem of Addie Eklund and Ben-Shmuel took down Siena's Meagan Brown and Perkins 7-5. 
 
UP NEXT
Colgate (1-3) returns to action with two home matches next weekend. The Raiders will host Le Moyne on Saturday at 3 p.m. and Niagara on Sunday at 1 p.m., both at Drumlins in Syracuse.
