Set 1: Colgate 25, American 16
Colgate took charge from the opening serve and never looked back. Eight of the first 12 points were produced by kills, including four from Shadwick, to push Colgate in front 12-2. Back-to-back shots from Snyder carried the Raiders to a 20-12 lead before a pair of errors on the home side sealed the opening set for the Raiders, 25-16.
Set 2: Colgate 25, American 22
The second set was the closest of the match with back-and-forth action. Kills from Kurowski and Thompson struck first as the Raiders built an early 10-4 lead before American bounced back and used a 4-0 surge to close the gap to 10-8. Colgate never trailed but the margin trimmed to one point on three occasions, the latest of which made it 20-19 on a service ace. Two kills from Kurowski helped the Raiders pull away down the stretch for the tight 25-22 victory.
Set 3: Colgate 25, American 19
Colgate posted an even .300 hitting clip in the deciding third set. The Eagles broke free with a 4-0 scoring spurt to build a 13-11 edge before the Raiders countered with three consecutive points, including a service ace from Rachael Martinez. The lead changed hands one more time before Colgate jumped in front for good, 21-17, when Shadwick's ace capped a 5-1 run. Three straight kills from Hauschild, Carlie Rzeszotarski, and Snyder finished off the win, 25-19.
