NEW BRITAIN, CONN. – A Central Connecticut goal in the sixth minute of the game was the deciding factor in Colgate's 1-0 loss on the road.
The Raiders had some decent chances in the first half as they led the Blue Devils in shots on goal at 4-1.
Adrienne Vaughn had a close opportunity in the 21st minute, but her attempt was saved by Central Connecticut's goalkeeper
In the 35th minute,
Maddie Cappillo ripped a shot off the crossbar.
Two minutes later,
Hannah Pinkus tried one from outside the box that was saved on a diving attempt.
The second half saw more close chances for Colgate.
In the 77th minute, Cappillo had another shot attempt that once again hit the crossbar .
Another good opportunity came in the 86th minute.
Adrienne Vaughn connected on a header off a corner kick but it fell right into the hands of Central Connecticut's goalkeeper.
The Raiders finished the game outshooting the Blue Devils 14-11.
