Kurowski Headlines Colgate’s Three All-League Honorees

Senior Repeats as Setter of the Year; Three Raiders Named First Team

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – On the heels of its first outright Patriot League regular season championship since 2012, the Colgate volleyball team was recognized accordingly when the league announced its postseason awards on Monday.

Colgate hauled in three of the seven All-Patriot League First Team selections. Julia Kurowski garnered Setter of the Year for the second straight season, headlining Colgate's three postseason selections. She was joined by teammates Alli Lowe and Libby Overmyer with first team honors. The trio helped Colgate claim its first outright regular season title since 2012 behind a 16-9 overall record and 13-3 mark in conference play.

Kurowski Repeats as Setter of the Year

Julia Kurowski

One year removed from becoming Colgate's first-ever Setter of the Year, Kurowski repeats in 2021 after another stellar season on the outside. The senior was a pivotal contributor to Colgate's league-leading .225 hitting percentage on the strength of 779 assists, good for fourth in the Patriot League.

Kurowksi currently ranks third in program history with 3,499 assists. Meghan Fanta '10 is the program's all-time leader with 3,945, followed by Kaylee Fifer '14 with 3,600. Defensively, Kurowski racked up 196 digs and 42 block assists in 90 sets played thus far this season. The Lancaster, N.Y., native is just the sixth player in Colgate Volleyball history to garner three All-Patriot League First Team accolades. She set the program record for single-season assists in 2019 before back-to-back seasons as Setter of the Year in 2020-21 and 2021.

Lowe Becomes Program's First Four-Time All-League First Team Honoree

Alli Lowe

Lowe put together another spectacular season and becomes Colgate's first-ever four-time All-Patriot League First Team selection. She's a five-time All-League honoree after landing second team in 2018.

The two-time Player of the Year ranked fourth in the Patriot League in kills (210), averaging 3.33 per set. She sits second all-time in kills with 1,566 over her five years. Katrina Zawojski '09  holds the career record with 1,668.

On the defensive side, Lowe registered a team-best .965 reception percentage on 284 services. She also averaged 2.0 digs per set with 126 on the season and added 27 block assists.

Overmyer Honored For Sophomore Success

Libby Overmyer

Overmyer, a sophomore outside hitter, makes her first appearance on the postseason All-Patriot League list with first team honors. She led the team in kills (274) while averaging 3.22 per set, good for second on the team behind Lowe. Overmyer held a .240 attack percentage on a team-high 696 attempts.

A Houston native, Overmyer was strong from the service line, posting eight aces and seven of which came during conference play. Her 3.48 kills per set against league opponents paced the squad. A force at the net as well, Overmyer posted 28 total blocks during the regular season.
