HAMILTON — A second half penalty kick led the visiting Bucknell Bison over Colgate on Saturday afternoon.
The Raiders were presented some good opportunities in the first half.
A corner kick In the 26th minute led to a loose ball in front of the goal but no Colgate players were able to get a shot off.
Less than a minute later Colgate had more chances with shots from Max Edelstein and Ryan Leask.
A corner kick for Colgate in the 65th minute led to a header by Simon Hall that he put just wide of the goal.
Things got chippy in the 78th minute as both sides had players sent off to make it 10-on-10. The Bison were also awarded a penalty kick that Alex Clarke converted to give them a 1-0 lead.
Just three minutes later the Raiders had a chance to equalize but Toby Goldner's shot was saved by Bucknell's goalkeeper.
With a minute and a half left to play the Bison were issued another red card. The Raiders played the remainder of the game a man up, although they ran out of time as they were unable to equalize.
