HAMILTON - Colgate came into another home weekend looking to put its two most recent outings in the rear-view mirror. With a strong St. Lawrence squad standing in the way, this wouldn't be an easy task.

In the first period, Colgate showed no signs of dwelling on the past. Malia Scheinder put the Raiders up 1-0 midway through the opening frame. Displaying the growing chemistry in the star-studded first line, Sammy Smigliani and Danielle Serdachny set-up Schneider with a chance in front of the net.
The goal moved Schneider past Charlotte Davet for lucky 13th all-time on Colgate's career goals leaderboard. The junior sits just six goals shy of becoming the tenth Raider in program history to tally 50 in a career.
Going into the first intermission at Class of 1965 Arena with a lead has proved to be a recipe for success in the past, but St. Lawrence battled back to tie the game at 1-1 just 10 seconds into the second period.
The third period provided two power play opportunities to St. Lawrence and one to Colgate, but the stout penalty kill units wouldn't budge. For a second time this season, 60 minutes weren't enough for the Raiders and Saints.
In a fast-paced overtime period, Colgate outshot the visitors 2-0 but couldn't push anything past goalie Lucy Morgan.
Over 65 minutes, Liz Auby stopped 23 shots and made several key saves to keep the Saints off the board late in the contest.

From the Source
Head Coach Greg Fargo on Schneider's goal
- "It was a really good sequence of play by everyone on the ice at that moment. Sydney Bard made a nice play early on and Smigliani changed sides down low enough to put the puck behind the net, and Malia was waiting for Danielle to make the pass. It was the start our team worked for. There was a lot of good play leading up to that goal."
Looking ahead to Clarkson
- "Both teams are very different since the last time we played them. Our team and game has evolved and I'm sure theirs has as well. We're focused on playing the way we're capable of playing. For the most part tonight, we did a good job of doing that."
