Colgate shot right back with seven straight out of the timeout behind a pair of layups from Burns and Ivanauskas around another 3-pointer from Richardson to cut the margin back to two, 28-26. Rayman made a nice cut and finished with a two-handed slam to keep the deficit at two 30-28 before Clemson closed on an 8-2 spurt to hold a 38-30 lead at the half.
Richardson got the Raiders going in the second half with a trey from the corner on their first possession. Colgate continued the momentum with 11 of the next 15 points to tie things up at 47-47. In a series of runs down the stretch, Clemson pulled away late for the victory.

QUOTES
Head Coach Matt Langel
On the game:
"Credit to Clemson. They did what they had to do to win the game. Obviously our turnovers plagued us throughout. Clemson's length and athleticism is not something we go up against often and we did not adjust like we needed to."
On the final minutes:
"With all of those factors against us, we were still right there, where you want to be in a close game with a few minutes left. Hopefully not getting it done this time will help us learn about ourselves and find a way the next time we get a chance like this."
On two more tough tests coming up:
"It does not get any easier over the next week against Syracuse and Auburn. We will get right to work when get back to Hamilton tomorrow."
