WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Colgate softball bats came to life to lead the Raiders to an 8-5 victory in the nightcap of a Saturday Patriot League doubleheader at Army. The win helped the Raiders bounce back from a 6-1 loss in the opener.

Bella Crow earned the win in the circle as she hurled her fourth-straight complete game.
The Raiders opened the scoring in the nightcap as senior
Holly Geranen smacked a two-out double and Guevarra followed with an RBI single to give Colgate a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first.
Army answered back with a three spot in the top of the third to pull ahead 3-1. Guevarra recorded her second RBI of the game in the bottom of the third to trim the Black Knight lead to 3-2.
Both teams were kept off the board in the fourth before Colgate surged ahead in the bottom of the fifth. Geranen drew a two-out walk before Guevarra reached on an error and junior Bailie Jorth also drew a base on balls to load the bases. Romero then came through with a huge bases-clearing double to put the Raiders up 5-3.
The Black Knights got a run back in the top of the sixth to pull within 5-4, but Colgate had another response in the bottom of the frame. Sophomore
Nicole Rounsavill started the sixth-inning scoring with an RBI double. Geranen followed with an RBI groundout before Guevarra sent an RBI single up the middle to give the Raiders an 8-4 edge.
Army was able to put one run on the board in the top of the seventh, but Crow took care of the rest to secure the 8-5 victory.
The Black Knights used a two-out, two-run single to take an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning of the day's opener. Colgate answered right away in the bottom of the frame as sophomore
Virginia Irby drew a leadoff walk before moving to second on a sacrifice bunt from Rounsavill. Geranen then stepped up with an RBI single up the middle to trim the Army lead to 2-1 through one inning.
Following a scoreless second inning, the Black Knights put up three more runs in the third and fourth frames to stretch their lead to 5-1. Army added another run in the sixth, and the Raiders weren't able to get their bats going as the Black Knights picked up the 6-1 victory in the opener.

- The Raiders are now 6-22 on the season and 2-3 in Patriot League action.

- Romero's three RBI were a career high thanks to her three-run, go-ahead double.
- Guevarra's three RBI were also a career high. It marked her third multi-RBI game in the last four contests.
- Crow finished with a line of five runs, only four of which were earned, on nine hits with four strikeouts to earn her team-leading third win of the season.
- Geranen recorded an RBI in both games, marking her fourth-straight game with an RBI.
- Geranen and Rounsavill finished the day with a team-best three hits apiece.
