WEST POINT, N.Y. – Colgate wasn't able to overcome a strong pitching performance by Army's Courtney Springman in a 4-0 loss to the Black Knights Sunday afternoon.
The game was scoreless through the first two frames until Army used a two-run homerun and RBI double to take a 3-0 lead in the top of the third inning.
The Raiders threatened with two runners on base in the bottom of the fourth, but were unable to find any run production. Army added another run in the fifth thanks to a solo home run to extend its lead to 4-0.
Colgate was only able to put two more runners on base the rest of the way as Army closed out the 4-0 victory to take the series 2-1.
