SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Colgate women's tennis rallied in a big way Friday afternoon as it swept all six singles matches to knock off the St. Bonaventure Bonnies, 6-1, at Drumlins Tennis Center.
The Raiders fell in all three doubles matches to begin the day before coming back for their third win of the season and snap a two-game skid. This was the first time in the 2018 season that Colgate won all six singles matches.
MacKenzie Deeter (Wadsworth, Ohio) and
Jordan Williams (Fort Washington, Maryland) nearly ended St. Bonaventure's bid for a doubles sweep at No. 1 doubles but came up just short against Gabriella Bowe and Kahlei Reisinger in a tiebreaker.
Kelly Klein (Ross, California),
Cheyenne Brown (Dayton, New Jersey),
Lauren O'Brien (Leawood, Kansas) and Deeter all opened up singles play with successive wins to quickly turn Colgate's 1-0 deficit into a victory by taking a 4-1 lead in the match.
Williams followed suit at No. 3 singles with a 6-4, 7-5, win before
Elinor Simek (Locust Valley, New York) closed out the match with a three-set win at No. 6 singles.

Head Coach
Bobby Pennington
"After getting swept in doubles, we bounced back like I've never seen a team bounce back to win all six singles matches. We lost to the Bonnies last year and this was a huge bounce-back win against a quality Atlantic 10 opponent. I give credit to our team for stepping up in singles to comeback for a huge win. Next up IMG!"
