HAMILTON – A season that began on the sidelines for first-year offensive lineman
Jayvion Queen ended with a spot on the 2018 Hero Sports Freshman All-America Team.
Â
Queen stepped in early for injured All-Patriot League First Team lineman
Jovaun Woolford, who was lost for the season Sept. 1 against Holy Cross. The Raiders barely missed a beat, leading the Patriot League in rushing at 190.6 per game.
Â

Queen's Freshman All-America selection makes it five offensive line starters out of five this year to win some type of postseason honor.
Scott Hirshman,
Max Hartzman and
Jack Badovinac were named All-Patriot League First Team, and
Charlie Holsopple was a Second Team selection. Hirshman last week was named All-ECAC.
Â
The first collegiate start for Queen came Sept. 8 at No. 20 New Hampshire, a 10-3 Colgate victory that was the springboard to nine straight victories and a Patriot League championship. Colgate's 10th victory of the season came in a 23-20 NCAA second-round playoff game over No. 6 James Madison.
Â
An Altoona, Pennsylvania native, Queen played in all 12 games this season with 11 starts.
Â
Postseason production through the FCS semifinals was taken into account for the Freshman All-America Team.
Â
Queen is the second Colgate Raider on the Hero Sports Freshman All-America Team in the last three years, joining
Abu Daramy-Swaray in 2016.
