Colgate Falls 2-0 at Army

Tappenden Finishes With Four Saves in Goal

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Army scored in the 11th minute and added an insurance goal early in the second half to hand the Colgate men's soccer team a 2-0 loss Friday night.
 
The Black Knights were able to get on the board as Alex Grave de Peralta scored his first goal of the season in the 11th minute. The Raiders threatened with three corner kicks and two shots in the next two minutes, but weren't able to even up the score.
 
Senior keeper Peter Tappenden made three key saves in the remainder of the half to keep the Army lead at 1-0 heading into halftime.
 
Army added an insurance goal in the 53rd minute on Rex Epps' sixth goal of the season. The Raiders picked up the pressure throughout the half, but weren't able to find the back of the net as the Black Knights held on to win 2-0.
