Chiavaro made two more key stops in the opening three minutes of the second half to thwart another Lehigh push. The teams traded possession and shots for the remainder of regulation, with each keeper making two more saves in net. Colgate held off a late Lehigh charge that saw three Mountain Hawk shots in the final three minutes to send the game to overtime.
