BALTIMORE – Loyola rode a pair of four-goal quarters in the first half Saturday and withstood a
Griffin Brown hat trick for a 12-5 win over Colgate.
All three of Brown's goals came after intermission as the Raiders attempted to rally from an 8-1 deficit. It was the rookie midfielder's second hat trick of the season and extended his team-leading goals total to 19.
The McLean, Virginia, native has scored at least one goal in each of the last nine games.
Brandon Burke had another impressive showing in goal, making 14 saves – many of the highlight variety. But Pat Spencer scored five goals and assisted on another to improve Loyola to 4-1 in the Patriot League. Alex McGovern and Zack Sirico added two goals apiece for the home side.

The Greyhounds scored four consecutive goals in the first quarter and again in the second.
The Raider lineup was handcuffed by the absence of defensive captain
Jackson Patterson, who missed the game because of an illness.
Colgate now faces a crucial three-game closing stretch against Navy, Holy Cross and Lafayette. The Navy and Lafayette games are at home.
