WEST POINT, N.Y. – Army got out to an early lead and never looked back en route to a 12-0 win over Colgate Sunday in the series finale of a three-game, league-opening set.
The win secured the series sweep for the Black Knights as Army won a pair of close 5-3 and 8-7 battles Saturday.
The Black Knights used five hits to plate seven runs in the bottom of the first before adding three in the second inning to take a 10-0 lead through two frames.
Army then plated single runs in both the third and fourth to extend its advantage to 12-0. The Raiders were able to scatter five hits off Army's Caroline Smith, but it wasn't enough as the Black Knights secured the series sweep with a 12-0 victory.
