HAMILTON – Colgate women's lacrosse senior attack
Isabel Kreitler (Fairfield, Connecticut) tallied her fourth hat trick of the season and finished with five points to record her 100
th career point in the Raiders' 15-6 win over the American Eagles Saturday afternoon at Beyer-Small '76 Field.
Kreitler is the second Raider to record 100 points this season, joining
Haley O'Hanlon (Garden City, New York) in the 100-point club this season. Kreitler also snagged seven draw controls en route to the 100
th of her career. Kreitler is now ninth in program history with 103 draw controls in her career while she also has scored 78 goals as part of her 102 points.
Kristen Brigagliano (Brightwaters, New York) tallied a career-high five points and picked up her first career hat trick in the win while O'Hanlon tied her career-highs with four assists and six points in the Raiders' nine-goal win.
Sophomore
Tara Atkinson (Lloyd Harbor) also tallied career-highs with three assists and five points while tying her career-high with two goals in the game against the Eagles.
Colgate goalkeeper
Asil Asfour (Eden Prairie, Minnesota) also had a game to remember, tying her career-high with nine saves and also had two groundballs.
The Raiders had a strong second half, outscoring the Eagles 10-2 and scoring 11 of the final 13 goals in the game.
American jumped out to an early 3-1 lead in the first 12:40 of the game, including Madison Hoon's goal just 20 seconds into the game to make it 1-0.
Kreitler netted her 17
th of the season 1:33 later to tie the game on a great feed from
Haley O'Hanlon (Garden City, New York) but the Eagles answered with a pair of goals to extend the lead to two goals.
Colgate scored three straight goals to jump ahead of American, with
Natalie Washuta (Chatham, New Jersey) opening the Raiders' run with a goals coming midway through the half assisted by
Tara Atkinson (Lloyd Harbor, New York). Eight minutes later,
Payton Gabriel (Lakewood, Colorado) fired a quick goal off a great pass from O'Hanlon to tie the game before Atkinson scored a great goal of her own to give the Raiders their first lead of the game.
American's Erica Skowron tied the game with 49.8 seconds left in the first half before Kreitler put home her second of the game with less than seven seconds left in the half after
Kristen Brigagliano (Brightwaters, New York) found her with a quick pass after being fouled.
O'Hanlon opened up the second half with a beautiful goal 2:09 into the half after a great centering feed from Brigagliano, giving Colgate a run scoring five of the last six goals in the stretch.
Kreitler completed her hat trick and tallied the 100
th point of her career just 29 seconds after O'Hanlon's goal. Gabriel scored her second goal of the game nearly seven minutes later to extend Colgate's lead to 8-4 with 20:26 to go in the second half.
After Skowron scored her second goal of the game, the Raiders scored another four straight goals opened up by Kreitler's fourth tally of the game just 28 seconds later.
Brigagliano scored a pair of goals within 2:14 sandwiched around O'Hanlon's second goal of the game to give the Raiders a seven-goal game.
Isabella Lopez scored her first of the season with 5:59 left in the second half for the Eagles' last goal of the game to bring American within six goals at 12-6.
Colgate closed out the game with three unanswered goals starting with
Kate Kelly's (Summit, New Jersey) first career goal with 4:45 left in the game. Just 19 seconds later, Brigagliano finished off her first career hat trick and Atkinson scored the final goal of the game with four seconds left for her second tally of the afternoon.

The Raiders return to the win column and open up conference play on the right foot as they improve to 4-3 (1-0 Patriot League) while the Eagles fall to 2-6 (0-1 Patriot League) with the loss.
