KAILUA, H.I- The Colgate men's tennis team faced Hawaii Pacific University, the defending NCAA Division II National Champions, in the last match of the Michael Schonbraun '96 Spring Break trip on Friday afternoon and were handed a 7-0 loss.

The Sharks took the doubles point with 6-1, 6-3, and 8-5 wins in the three doubles flights.

Jacob Daugherty (Burke, Virginia) and Noah Rosenblat (Deerfield, Illinois) both fought hard in their singles matches but fell just short of claiming set wins.

The Raiders now have a two week stretch off to prepare for their next match on April 1st when they start Patriot League play.

I can see why Hawaii Pacific is defending National Champs as they play at an extremely high level. Our guys looked like a team who has had four brutal matches in seven days. Credit to Daugherty and Rosenblat for pushing their opponents to the limits. We are 5 and 5 at the halfway point and getting tougher and tougher. The goal is to peak exactly a month from now."
