Two Raiders Net Two Goals in Loss at Fresno St.

Kreitler and Redican Lead Raiders in Tough Loss to Bulldogs, Seven Raiders Score Goals


FRESNO, Calif. – Colgate women's lacrosse senior attack Isabel Kreitler (Fairfield, Connecticut) and sophomore midfielder Charlotte Redican (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) each scored two goals Sunday afternoon as the Raiders fell to the Fresno St. Bulldogs, 14-9, at the Bulldogs' Lacrosse Stadium.
 
Kreitler led the Raiders with three points on the afternoon while Redican chipped in a pair of goals coming off the bench for the Raiders. In addition to those two, Payton Gabriel (Lakewood, Colorado) tallied a goal and an assist of the bench for Colgate while Tara Atkinson (Lloyd Harbor, New York) added a pair of assists.
 
Fresno State jumped out to an early 2-0 lead with a pair of goals in the first 3:23 of the game before Kreitler potted her first goal of the game and 15th of the season to bring the Raiders within a goal just over a minute later.
 
The Bulldogs scored the next three goals to take a 5-1 lead in a span of 1:25 but the Raiders battled back once again to pull within a goal. Kristen Brigagliano (Brightwaters, New York) picked up her fourth of the season before Alissa Masini (Gillette, New Jersey) and Gabriel scored within 1:31 of each other to make it 5-4.
 
After scoring two goals within 2:33 of each other, the Bulldogs took a 7-4 lead and neither team scored again before closing out the half. Lindsay West (Bedford Hills, New York) opened up the scoring in the second half as the Raiders and Bulldogs traded the first four goals of the second half.
 
Kreitler netted her second goal of the game to pull the Raiders within three goals at 10-7 with 14:18 to go in the half but the Bulldogs scored three straight goals to extend their lead to six. Redican and Noelle Patterson (Vestal, New York) scored goals to put the Raiders up to nine but Fresno St. scored the final goal of the game.

The Bulldogs return to the win column with the win to improve to 5-2 while the Raiders drop their second straight to fall to 3-3 this season.
