Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 ITHACA, N.Y. – Colgate split its game in the final day of the Cornell Invitational on Saturday.
 
The Raiders swept Marist in their first match of the day, defeating the Red Foxes in three sets (25-15, 25-21, 25-20). Sophomore Amanda Smith recorded a season-high 10 kills to lead Colgate.
 
Colgate then fell to James Madison in three sets in its finale of the Cornell Invite (25-17, 25-21, 27-25). The Raiders were led by Kathleen Harris who logged 13 kills and eight digs in the match.

How It Happened (Marist Match)
- Colgate took the first set 25-15 from Marist.
- The Raiders never trailed in the frame and used five 3-0 runs to push past the Red Foxes.
- Harris recorded three consecutive kills to take all the momentum in the set and give Colgate a 17-8 lead.
- The Raiders claimed the second set with a score of 25-21.  
- The match was tied early, but Colgate went on an 11-3 run to take a 17-9 lead.
- Marist battled to within two points, but a huge block by Taylor Flaherty and a kill by Amanda Smith stopped the Red Foxes' momentum.
- The Raiders won the third set 25-20 behind four kills by Amanda Smith.
- Colgate would not trail after 5-4 in the final frame and looked to be in the clear after garnering a 16-11 lead.
- Marist fought back to tie the game at 16, but a service ace from Peighton McRobie and couple of errors from the Red Foxes gave Colgate a 20-16 lead.
- Marist took two timeouts in the final points of the set and got the score to 24-20, but an ace by Hannah Cannon won the match.

- Amanda Smith led the Raiders with a season-high 10 kills.

- Jaelah Hutchison also pitched in nine kills in the match.

How It Happened (James Madison Match)
- The Dukes claimed the first set of the match 25-17 thanks to an early 7-2 run to take a 14-10 lead against Colgate.
- The Raiders would pull within three points at 18-15, but could not fight their way out of the hole to claim the set.  
- Harris lead the way with five kills in the set, while Molly Smith, Flaherty and Katie Stebbins all pitched in two kills in the frame.
- JMU took the second set 25-21 after a tough back-and-forth battle at the end.
- Four consecutive service errors by both teams early in the set allowed Colgate stay within two points of the Dukes.
- JMU then went on a 5-0 run to take a 15-10 lead over the Raiders and it looked like Colgate would not be able to fight its way out of the hole.
- But the Raiders strung together a 9-3 run to take its first lead of the set at 19-18.
- The teams traded points until three attacking errors and a ball handling error gave JMU a 24-20 lead from which the Raiders could not come back.
- Harris and Stebbins both recorded four kills in the frame.  
- JMU used a 6-1 run at the end of the third set to claim the game from the Raiders, winning the frame 27-25.
- The entire set was very back-and-forth, with each team being within three points or fewer of one another the whole way.
- Amanda Smith recorded a kill to tie the game at 25, but back-to-back kills by Kelly Robertson gave the set to JMU.
- Katie Stansbury led the Raider way with five kills in the final frame and Harris pitched in four kills.

- Harris led the Raiders, registering 13 kills for the squad to go along with eight digs.
- Lauren Sanderson dished out 23 assists in the match and logged 10 digs.
