Raiders Earn Fourth Shutout of Season at Siena

Sanogo, Ouligian Score Second-Half Goals as Colgate Blanks Saints

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. – A pair of Colgate sophomores scored second-half goals while the Raider defense didn't allow a shot on goal as Colgate picked up a 2-0 victory at Siena Saturday afternoon.

Sophomore Abdel Sanogo put the Raiders on the board in the 58th minute before classmate Aram Ouligian added an insurance goal 20 minutes later. Colgate limited the Saints to just four shots for the entire game, none of which were on frame.

The Raiders threatened with three corner kicks in the opening 10 minutes before Colgate fired off a pair of shots in the 23rd minute, one of which was high and one that was stopped by Siena keeper Aleks Radosavljevic.

Colgate kept the pressure up ten minutes later as attempts from Troy Moo Penn and Ouligian were both on frame, but able to be hauled in by Radosavljevic. The Raiders wrapped up the opening frame out-shooting the Saints 5-3, but neither team was able to find the back of the net as the game went into halftime scoreless.

Sanogo was able to break open the scoreless game 12 minutes into the second half. Sanogo took cross from junior Chase Pagani and bounced it off his chest before rifling it into the back of the net to put Colgate ahead 1-0 in the 58th minute.

The Raiders continued to threaten the Saints defense before Ouligian added an insurance tally in the 78th minute when he took a corner kick from junior Jared Stroud and fired it past the Siena keeper to give Colgate a 2-0 advantage.

The Colgate defense took care of the rest, holding the Saints to just one second-half shot, as the Raiders picked up a 2-0 road victory.
