White’s Home Run Proves Game-Winner

Raiders Sweep Series with Lafayette After 3-1 Win

EASTON, Pa. – Rookie Pami White blasted a three-run home run over the left field fence, and it held up in a 3-1 Colgate Softball victory over Lafayette here Sunday.

The win handed Colgate its first series sweep of the year after the Raiders took the doubleheader Saturday, 4-1 and 6-0. With the outcome, Colgate also stays alive in the Patriot League postseason hunt with one weekend remaining in the regular season.

Katie Bushee and Holly Geranen started the game by earning walks to place runners on first and second with no outs. After the Leopards recorded the first out of the contest, White stepped up to drill a shot over the fence for her second career long ball. The hit handed Colgate an early 3-0 edge and the Raiders would eventually go on to secure the victory.

Brigit Ieuter earned her second complete game in as many days after allowing just five hits and one unearned run in her sixth win of the year. The senior also fanned three batters, shifting her season total to a team-best 42.

On offense, Lauren La Terra finished 2-for-3 for the Raiders. Bushee, White and Alessandra Moore each added one hit apiece. Bushee, Geranen and White accounted for all of Colgate's runs, while White earned all three RBI with her shot over the left field fence.
