Raiders Drop Opener 12-0 in 5 Inning; Saturday Doubleheader Postponed Until Sunday

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Colgate Softball saw Lehigh jump in front early here Friday afternoon and never look back.

The Mountain Hawks recorded a seven-run opening inning to create a large gap between the teams. Lehigh then added five more runs throughout the rest of the game to take the 12-0 victory in five innings.

Katie Bushee went 1-for-3 on the day thanks to a leadoff double to start the contest. She led the Raiders on offense, while rookies Meghan Romero and Baillie Jorth each earned walks.

Senior Brigit Ieuter got the start in the circle for Colgate but allowed five hits and seven runs during her 0.1 innings of work. Fellow classmate Megan Carnase came in for relief closing out the final 3.2 innings, giving up seven hits and five runs, four of which were earned. During her time in the circle, Carnase also struck out four batters.
