HAMILTON – Colgate Softball dropped its final contest of a three-game series with Bucknell here Sunday afternoon, 9-0.
The Bison jumped in front 2-0 after the second inning following the game's lone home run. Bucknell added three more runs in the third and fourth to extend its edge to 5-0. The visitors then closed out the game with four additional runs in what would be the final frame to complete the 9-0 six-inning victory.
Katie Bushee,
Holly Geranen and
Pami White all recorded a hit on the day, while
Gillian Murray earned the Raiders' only walk.
Bushee's hit was her 10th double of the season and stood as Colgate's lone extra base hit on the day. The junior now sits with 29 career doubles, which places her tied for ninth all-time with Andrea Basztura '96.
Kyle Griswold was credited with the loss in the circle after allowing eight hits and five runs, three of which were earned, in 3.2 innings of work.
Megan Carnase came in for the final 2.1 innings, giving up seven hits and four runs, one earned. The two combined to strike out four Bison batters.
Colgate next welcomes rival Cornell on Tuesday for a single out-of-conference game set for 3:30 p.m. on Eaton Street Field. Live stats and video will be available at the start.
