HAMILTON
– Senior Emily Peebles scored five goals, including the game-winning tally with 11:20 remaining the second half, to lead Colgate to a 10-8 victory over Lehigh in Patriot League women's lacrosse action Saturday at Beyer-Small '76 Field.

Peebles tallied three of her career-high five markers in the second half to spark a Raider comeback that saw Colgate score six of the last seven goals of the game to overcome a 7-4 deficit and record the two-goal victory.

Fellow senior Taylor Fischer started the game-changing spurt, scoring her second goal of the game at the 25:08 mark of the second half to ignite a 5:15 stretch that saw Colgate tally four unanswered goals to build an 8-7 lead.

Lehigh temporarily halted the Raiders momentum, tying the game at 8-8 thanks to a goal from Julianne D'Orazio with 17:19 remaining.

Peebles helped Colgate regain its lead a little more than six minutes later, finding the back of the net for the fifth and final time to put the Raiders back in front, 9-8. Haley O'Hanlon added an insurance marker with 5:13 on the clock to determine the final margin.

Earlier in the contest, Lehigh rattled off four straight goals midway through the first half to build a 4-1 cushion. Teams proceeded to trade goals back-and-forth until Courtney Henig put home an unassisted effort less than four minutes into the second half to give the Mountain Hawks a 7-4 lead and set up Colgate's decisive spurt.

The victory secured Colgate a berth in the Patriot League tournament for the third straight season. The Raiders can earn home-field advantage for their first-round contest, but need a Lehigh loss to Bucknell in its regular-season finale on April 29 in order to do so.

"A lot of my shots came off of passes, so it was teamwork. All of us working the ball quickly and looking to get it downfield. Everyone had their heads up today, looking to make plays, and it just happened to be me in the middle."
