Fischer Nets Two For Colgate at Drexel

Second-Half Surge by Dragons Proves Costly in 11-7 Setback for Raiders

PHILADELPHIA – Devin Nihill and Lacey Aghazarian notched two goals each to key a critical 4-1 spurt late in the second half and lead Drexel to an 11-7 victory over Colgate in collegiate women's lacrosse action Sunday at Vidas Field.
 
Carrying a 4-3 lead into the second half, the Dragons notched three goals in the opening 3:58 of the final frame to build a four-goal cushion, only to see the Raiders respond with three unanswered goals in a 2:48 span to make it a 7-6 contest.
 
Nihill ignited the game-changing sequence as she completed her hat trick thanks to goals with 15:24 and 10:20 remaining to stretch the Drexel cushion to 10-7.
 
Aghazarian notched her first two goals of the contest in the final seven minutes of regulation to help secure the Dragon victory. She tallied her first with 6:39 to play to make it a 10-6 game and responded with the game's final marker at the 2:22 mark to determine the four-goal margin of victory.
