Men's Ice Hockey Falls to Dartmouth, 2-0

Finn Makes 26 Saves to Finish First ECAC Hockey Weekend with 67

HANOVER, N.H. – Charlie Finn (North Vancouver, British Columbia) stood on his head for the second straight night as he made 26 saves for the Colgate men's ice hockey team in a 2-0 loss against Dartmouth at Thompson Arena.

Finn was remarkable in the third period, making 11 saves. With 5:12 left in the third period, the Big Green went on the power play and Finn made three incredible saves in the first 30 seconds of the Raiders' penalty kill.

Overall, the Raiders were a perfect 8 for 8 on the penalty kill and Finn stopped all 11 of the Big Green's shots. Colgate went 14 for 15 on the penalty kill this weekend to boost their percentage to 89.2 percent on the season.

Colgate went 0 for 4 on the power play themselves, snapping a streak of six straight games with a power-play goal.

Jacob Panetta (Belleville, Ontario) made the play of the game for the Raiders midway through the third period that kept the game scoreless at the time. Dartmouth's Grant Opperman had a breakaway up the left side but Panetta slid in front of the shot for the block on a great defensive play.

The Raiders and Big Green were scoreless through the first 57:44 of the game before Dartmouth broke through for the first goal of the game. Carl Hesler worked the puck to Troy Crema who skated into the offensive zone and blasted a shot to the top right corner past Finn for the 1-0 lead.

Hesler added an empty-net goal for the Big Green with 43.4 seconds left in the third period.
