HAMILTON –
Cornell put together a second-half comeback to top Colgate 3-2 Tuesday night at Beyer-Small '76 Field. The game was tied 2-2 heading into the final minutes of action before the Big Red converted a penalty kick in the 87th to secure the 3-2 victory.

Senior Zach Pagani gave Colgate an early 1-0 lead with his fourth goal in the last three games, while junior Jared Stroud accounted for Colgate's second goal.

Colgate controlled all the momentum in the opening half. Pagani was able to put the Raiders on the board in the 26th minute when found a pass from Omorogbe at the top of the 18-yard box and skipped it past Cornell keeper Ryan Shellow to put the Raiders in front 1-0.

Pagani nearly added his second off the game when he headed in a sharp pass from first-year Kentaro Morrison in the 33rd minute, but was whistled offside. The Raiders wrapped up the first half with a 5-0 shot advantage and took their 1-0 lead into the locker room.

The Big Red picked up the pace in the second half as Cornell was able to find an equalizer on a goal from Ryan Watters in the 56th minute. Jonathan Cullom followed in the 59th minute to give the Big Red a 2-1 lead.

Colgate quickly retaliated as Jared Stroud connected on a pass from Morrison and rifled it past the Cornell keeper to tie the game at 2-2 in the 60th minute.

Both teams followed with a few good opportunities, but a Colgate foul inside the box led to a Cornell penalty kick in the 87th minute. Jack Ferguson was able to convert the attempt to lead Cornell to the 3-2 victory.
