HAMILTON – The Raiders defeated Lehigh on Saturday afternoon, serving the Mountain Hawks their first Patriot League loss (26-24, 25-13, 25-11).
 
Colgate topped Lehigh 26-24 in the first set, using a 10-3 run to take a late lead over the Mountain Hawks. The Raiders and Lehigh were even throughout the first 10 points of the first frame, but the Mountain Hawks used a 10-6 run to hold the four-point advantage over the Raiders. Colgate kicked in to high gear though, using a 10-3 run of its own to win the frame 26-24. Seven errors on Lehigh's end helped boost the momentum during the run. Jaelah Hutchison recorded three kills in the set to lead the Raider way.
 
The second frame looked similar to the first, with the set being tied at seven, but the Raiders would take the lead and the momentum on an 8-3 run behind four kills by Kathleen Harris. After a Lehigh timeout, it looked as if the Mountain Hawks were gaining on the Raiders, closing the lead to three at 15-12, but that is the closest Lehigh would get for the rest of the way. Colgate closed the set out on a 10-3 run thanks to two Hutchison service aces and two Katie Stansbury kills.
 
The Raiders held all of the momentum in the third set, defeating Lehigh 25-11. Madison McAndrews led Colgate on a huge service run, totaling 11 serves and two service aces during the 13-3 Raider run. After the run, Lehigh would not get closer than eight points for the rest of the frame. Harris led the Raiders on another big service run late in the set, totaling six serves over her stretch. Taylor Flaherty put the game away with a huge kill to close out the set 25-11.
 
Katie Stebbins led the Raiders with eight kills and Harris and Hutchison each pitched in seven kills of their own.
