Colgate released its 2015-16 competitive schedule on Thursday.
2015-16 Men's Basketball Schedule

HAMILTON –
Colgate men's basketball is back and has slated a tough schedule for its 2015-16 season, including trips to TCU, Syracuse, and Georgia Tech.

"It is an exciting time of year," head coach Matt Langel said. "Everyone is back on campus, our student-athletes have found a rhythm to their schedules, and the reality is the 2015-16 is just around the corner. One of our annual goals is to create a challenging non-conference schedule to best prepare us for an always competitive Patriot League lineup. I am confident that the mix of games against schools from power conferences, combined with contests against teams that we have played in closely contested games the past few years, will do just that."

The Raiders play 12 non-conference games before entering Patriot League play on Dec. 30. Langel has eight letterwinners returning from last year's squad, which finished with an overall mark of 16-17, and 12-6 in league play to go along with their trip to the Patriot League Semifinals.

"This year is unique in that we have eight players eligible to compete for their first time as Colgate Raiders. Clearly, the challenge will be to continue forward progress with so many new faces in the lineup. Our August trip to Spain, however, gave us a head start on making the necessary adjustments both on and off the court. The extra practices prior to the trip, the games in Spain, and the invaluable cultural experiences have been priceless to this group's development. I am hopeful that it will prove significant in our preparation to achieve our ultimate goal of competing for the Patriot League title."

Colgate tips off the year with a trip to George Mason on Nov. 13 before hosting Cornell on Nov. 16 for its home opener. The Raiders then become road warriors as they are away from Cotterell Court for the next six games with contests against Albany, Fordham, UMBC, and Binghamton. The Raiders meet the Great Danes on Nov. 19, the Rams on Nov. 24, the Retrievers on Nov. 28, and the Bearcats on Dec. 1.20454

The final two games of that six-game road swing are against major conference competition in Big 12 foe TCU on Dec. 5 and nearby ACC rival Syracuse on Dec. 8.

Colgate is finally back in the comfy confines of Cotterell Court for three straight against Utica on Dec. 10, and New Hampshire on Dec. 13, before closing out the home stand with an exhibition game versus Keuka on Dec. 19.

Langel's squad then finishes out its out-of-conference schedule with a matchup at Georgia Tech on Dec. 23.

The Raiders begin league play with a home contest against Lafayette on Dec. 30. All ten Patriot League schools are scheduled to play each other twice throughout the course of the season.

The Patriot League Tournament will have an opening round of games starting March 1. Quarterfinals are set for March 3, with semifinals on March 6. The Championship game is scheduled for March 9.

A number of games have time and television designations still to be determined.
