Balanced Effort Helps Raiders Top Terriers

Four Players Scored Two Goals Each to Lead Colgate to an 11-7 Victory at Boston University

BOSTON – Four players score two goals apiece to lead Colgate Women's Lacrosse to an 11-7 victory at Boston University in Patriot League action Wednesday at Nickerson Field.
 
Juniors Lauren Gorajek, Kallan Murray and Emily Peebles, and freshman Haley O'Hanlon all found the back of the net twice to lead a balanced Raider attack. Senior Megan Ark and sophomore Isabel Kreitler pitched in a goal and an assist each while O'Hanlon added two helpers to lead all players with four points.
 
Colgate trailed 6-5 early in the second half before scoring four consecutive goals to spark a 6-1 stretch that closed out the contest and gave the Raiders the weekday victory over the Terriers.

- Colgate improved to 7-5 overall and 4-2 in the Patriot League as it won for the fifth time in its last seven contests.

- Trailing 6-5 early in the second half, Gorajek tied the game at 6-6 with a free position goal at the 25:43 mark of the final frame.
- Gorajek's marker, her second of the contest, ignited the Raiders to score four straight goals over the next 10:41 and build a 9-6 cushion.
- A goal from Lindsay Weiner temporary halted the Colgate spurt and pulled Boston University within two, 9-7, but the Raiders tallied the last two goals of the game to determine the four-goal final margin. 
- Colgate benefitted from a balanced attack during its decisive spurt as six different players found the back of the net for the Raiders.

- Gorajek, Kallan Murray, O'Hanlon and Peebles notched two goals each to lead the Raider attack.
- Ark and Kreitler chipped in a goal and an assist each while junior Taylor Fischer accounted for the other Colgate tally.  
- O'Hanlon pitched in two helpers to lead all players with four points. O'Hanlon now sits atop the team scoring list with 34 points (22 G/ 12 A), moving one point ahead of Ark (24 G/ 9 A) and her 33 points this season.
- Kreitler and senior Jenna Frost tallied two caused turnovers apiece. Kreitler also added a team-high four draw controls while added three draw controls. 
- The win improved Colgate's record on the road to 5-2 this season. The five road wins in 2015 matches the programs' combined win total in road contests during the 2013 and 2014 campaigns.
- Senior Jennie Berglin finished with seven saves.

- Colgate held a 23-16 shot advantage for the contest. The Raiders out-shot the Terriers in both halves, highlighted by an 11-6 margin in the second half.
- The two teams split the 20 draws held in the contest. BU held a 7-3 edge in the first half and Colgate enjoyed a 6-3 margin in the final frame.
