Schlaefer, Grennan Solid Against Troy

Grennan Hits Second Home Run In As Many Games; Schlaefer Adds to RBI Total

DELAND, Fla. – Colgate softball dropped a tough 4-3 loss to Troy on Saturday during the second day of the Stetson Tournament.
 
The Raiders jumped out to the 3-0 edge following a strong fourth inning.
 
Mariel Schlaefer singled down the left field line to kick off the top of the inning. She stole second before the Trojans recorded their first out. Alessandra Moore then singled to center field, which allowed Schlaefer to reach home.
 
On the next at bat Tara Grennan hit her second home run in as many games with a laser to left center. Her shot brought home Moore and gave the Raiders the three-run edge.
 
The Trojans tallied one run back in the bottom half of that inning before coming from behind in the seventh to steal the victory by one.
 
Colgate will meet Alabama State on Sunday in the consolation game at 10 a.m.
