HAMILTON – Colgate Football recognized and honored its 2014 seniors and award-winners Saturday night inside the Hall of Presidents.
Safety
Mike Armiento picked up the Hal Lahar MVP Defensive Award, and tight end
John Quazza was presented the Andy Kerr MVP Offensive Award. Linebacker
Vinny Russo won the Tom Dodge Unsung Hero Award, and placekicker
Jonah Bowman took home the Mark Rakowski Special Teams Award.
John Weber (offense) and
Victor Steffen (defense) were named this year's winners of the Dick Biddle Coaches Award. Head coach
Dan Hunt added to the honor by informing the crowd that Weber and Steffen have been selected team captains for the 2015 season.
Hunt recognized 2014 captains Armiento,
Jimmy DeCicco,
Kris Kent,
Ed Pavalko and
Spencer Wallach, along with the departing seniors and this year's Patriot League award-winners.
Weber and Steffen have been named 2015 team captains.Bob Cornell, Colgate's longtime Director of Athletic Communications, was presented the Maroon Council Jack Mitchell Loyalty Award for his four decades of service to Colgate Football and Colgate Athletics.
Maroon Council President Tom McGarrity '79, P'10 '15 served as master of ceremonies.
Robert Decker, Colgate's Director of Athletic Business Operations, gave the invocation; and Director of Athletics
Victoria M. Chun '91 MA'94 offered opening remarks.
