HAMILTON –
Randyll Butler bucked the Colgate shooting trend, and Josie Stockill blocked nearly everything in sight.

That combination helped the Raiders rally past Boston University 67-54 here Wednesday night.

Butler led all scorers with 18 points on 7-of-9 shooting. Her percentage stood out for the Raiders, which shot just 33.9 percent as a team. But Colgate forced Boston University into 23 turnovers – 14 in the second half when the Raiders rallied from a seven-point deficit.

Colgate (5-19, 4-9 Patriot) trailed 29-28 at halftime and 37-30 just under three minutes into the second period.

But a Nicci Hays Fort timeout sparked a 14-0 Raiders run that ignited an overall 31-6 landslide. Colgate led 61-43 with 3:03 remaining and coasted from there.

Stockill scored 14 points and added a career-high seven blocked shots. That number broke the previous Cotterell Court women's record of five set by Leandra Fuller of Colgate in 2002, and tied by Lisa Andrews of Holy Cross in 2003 and Hope Foster of Bucknell in 2005.

Stockill scored 14 points with seven blocks.

Stockill just missed matching Colgate's program record of eight blocks set by Caitlin Gillard in a 2006 game at Cleveland State. Adonal Foyle owns the Cotterell Court overall record with 12 blocked shots, set in a 1996 game against Fairfield and equaled by the future NBA star one year later against Navy.

Colgate's Carole Harris added 11 points and 13 rebounds for her fifth double-double of the season, and Missy Repoli pitched in 11 points.

Boston U. (5-19, 2-11) was led by Corrine Williams' 14.

Colgate is at Navy this Saturday in a 4 p.m. start.

'Blockill' Party
Josie Stockill broke the Cotterell Court women's record with seven blocked shots.
• She bettered the previous mark of five set by Colgate's Leandra Fuller in 2002, and later tied by Lisa Andrews of Holy Cross in 2003 and Hope Foster of Bucknell in 2005.
• Colgate legend Adonal Foyle holds the Cotterell Court overall record with 12 blocked shots. The future NBA star set his mark against Fairfield in 1996, and tied it one year later against Navy.
• Stockill came into Wednesday's game fourth in the Patriot League and 77th nationally at 1.8 blocks per game.
• Her season average is back up to 2.0 thanks to 48 blocked shots in 24 games. She has 116 for her career, a 1.4 average.
• Stockill stands second on Colgate's all-time chart, trailing only Fuller's 170 set from 2002-05. She needs 54 more to tie the Fuller standard.
• Colgate also set a season-high with 10 blocked shots as a team. Harris added two and Kateri Stone one.

Topsy-Turvy First Half
• There were four ties and 13 lead changes in the first half alone.
• The largest lead was three by both teams. Colgate led 11-8, 13-10 and 15-12, while BU was in front 4-1, 6-3, 27-24 and 29-26.
• BU led at the break, 29-28.

Turning Point
• Boston University used an 8-0 run to build the largest lead for either team at 37-30 with 17:23 remaining in the second half.
• Timeout, Colgate.
• The message obviously was delivered and adjustments made as the Raiders reeled off the next 14 points to go in front 44-37.
• Nine of BU's 23 turnovers came during that 7:48 scoreless span.
• And things got progressively worse from there for the Terriers. They fell behind 61-43 by the 3:03 mark – a 31-6 Colgate run that completely flipped the game.
• Colgate finished with a decisive 22-8 edge in points-off-turnovers.

From the Source
• Colgate head coach Nicci Hays Fort: (On the early second-half timeout that changed momentum) "I just had to call that timeout because that was our lull that we've been having in some of these second halves. I couldn't let it go any further. We came out in the second half and had to go aggressive and get after them, and that's what we did."
(On Randyll Butler) "She's sicker than a dog and she just played her heart out. She's one of our true competitors. She's given me a few gray hairs, but in a good way. I love all of our kids, but that kid is just a warrior. She's sick, but she goes out and has a great game today."
(On Josie Stockill) "If we got beat, she was there to help us and protect us. She was always looking for the ball and didn't settle for getting caught behind on defense."
• Colgate guard Randyll Butler: (On the defensive pressure) "It was a big turning point. Coach really wanted us to get at them and speed the game up so things could start going our way. That's what we tried to do; pressure them as hard as possible and get some buckets."
(On her energy) "I get it from my teammates. They say, 'You've got some energy we need, so let's pump it up. Let's get it going.'"
(On the recent improved play) "It all comes down to practicing. We can't just give in. We have to keep practicing our hardest every day and it's propelling us into wins. That's what we've got to do."
• Colgate forward Josie Stockill: (On her seven blocks) "I didn't realize it was seven. My timing was good tonight, I guess."
(On the turnaround) "We just cracked down on our defense and stopped them from getting open shots. We tried to contest everything."
• Colgate forward Carole Harris: (On finding ways to contribute) "I knew my shot wasn't going in, so from that point I knew I had to rebound. My shot still wasn't going in when I was getting the o-boards, but I was getting fouled so I could convert those."
(On her four steals) "We were doing really well on defense, so we had that fire to go and get the ball."
