BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Josie Stockill scored a career-high 23 points and Colgate picked up a big road win Saturday with a 63-53 victory at LIU Brooklyn.
The Blackbirds (2-4) were coming off an overtime win at Navy, but Colgate put together a solid game throughout to post its first triumph of the season.
Stockill was a sizzling 11-of-14 from the floor and added five rebounds and three blocked shots.
Paige Kriftcher pitched in 11 points, while
Randyll Butler led the Raiders with both seven rebounds and eight assists.
Colgate trailed 29-28 at halftime but posted a 17-10 scoring advantage in the third quarter to take command. The Raiders put together two runs of five points, one of seven and then a 9-0 stretch in the final four minutes that put the game away.
Colgate is back in action Monday at Binghamton (2-5). The Raiders then host No. 1-ranked Connecticut on Wednesday in a sold out game at Cotterell Court.

Nicci Hays Fort (on the game): "It was a really solid team road win. Except for that five-minute stretch late in the second quarter, we played well. Josie was sharp all night and she even made a 3-pointer for us that pretty much sealed it.
