Tillotson Goes For Season-High At TCU

Senior Registers 20 Points For Fifth Double-Digit Scoring Game of Year

FORT WORTH, Texas – Senior Austin Tillotson notched a team-high 20 points Saturday night at TCU but it couldn't spark a Colgate Men's Basketball victory.

Colgate ultimately dropped a 76-49 decision to its Big 12 hosts.

Tillotson finished the night 7-of-14 from the floor, 4-of-10 from behind-the-arc and 2-of-2 from the charity stripe. He added two steals and two boards on the night as well.

Joining him in double-figures was rookie Dave Krmpotich, who posted 10 points on 4-of-7 shooting. Leading Colgate on the boards was fellow classmate Malcolm Regisford. The Woodland Hills, California, native pulled down four defensive rebounds and now sits with a team-best 46 on the year.

Colgate was just under 35 percent shooting from the floor, to go along with its 7-for-26 makes from long range and 6-for-10 attempts from the line. TCU finished the night shooting 42.4 percent, while going 5-of-14 and 11-of-18, respectively.

The Horned Frogs jumped out to the 13-2 edge five minutes into the contest and never really looked back. At the half it was a 37-19 ballgame.

Colgate got the deficit down to 42-28 at the 17:17 mark of the second half but TCU answered with an 8-0 run to extend the lead to 50-28. The Horned Frogs then held a sizable lead throughout the remaining minutes to secure the win.

The Raiders have a short turnaround as they travel to rival Syracuse on Tuesday at 7 p.m. for the final contest of their six-game road swing. That match will be broadcast live on ESPNU.

Straight From The Source
• Colgate head coach Matt Langel: (on his thoughts from the game) "Tough start to a game against a Big 12 opponent on the road for us. Credit to TCU for using its size, strength and experience to really dominate the glass in the early going. To be competitive in a game like this we can't give them second and third chance opportunities and we have to limit their ability to get their first option on offense."

"We learned some valuable lessons over the course of the game though and learned some more about our own identity as we work toward growing into what we want to be."

"Sitting around the hotel today, watching the great win by the football team, we talked about their season. How they endured their tough times and kept finding ways to improve and believe in their process. It's certainly our hope to try and use these lessons to make us better, although things definitely don't get easier Tuesday night at Syracuse."
