HAMILTON –
Hot-shooting Gonzaga fired in 11 3-pointers to help defeat Colgate 80-50 here Sunday afternoon.

The Bulldogs won their fourth game in the last five and did so with their best-shooting performance of the season. Gonzaga started off the game with three straight 3-pointers from guard Emma Stach in the opening two minutes and never looked back.

Gonzaga shot 56.1 percent from the field and finished 11-of-20 from long range after making five of their first six. At one point in the first quarter, Gonzaga was shooting 78 percent from the floor and led 21-5.

The Raiders placed a season-high 10 players in the scoring column and matched their season best with just 12 turnovers, but rebounds were hard to come by against the taller Bulldogs. Gonzaga finished with a 45-20 board edge.

Paige Kriftcher was the Colgate scoring leader for the fourth time this season. The senior guard scored 11 with a pair of 3-pointers. Josie Stockill and Randyll Butler shared rebounding honors with four, and Butler handed out four assists.
