Straight From The Source•Â
Colgate head coach Matt Langel:Â (on his overall thoughts from the game) "I have to give Lafayette credit. Coming off a three-game losing streak, where they lost by a total of seven points, they really stuck to their guns."
Â
"When we got a good solid lead in the second half, they just kept playing, moving the ball and trusting one another. (Dan) Trist was a load but to take 20 shots and get 24 points isn't the end of the world. In the end they made the necessary plays and the free throws to win the game."
Â
"Every game takes on its own identity and personality. It was disappointing to have 10 turnovers in the second half against a team that's not really trying to turn you over."
Â
"The style we played wasn't really our offensive basketball. We didn't move the ball well enough or share it. We didn't work to break the defense down and we, a little bit too much, tried to play one-on-one. Again that's not who we are if we are going to continue to win basketball games."
Up Next• The Raiders head back on the road for a two-game swing at Bucknell and Holy Cross.
• Colgate faces the Bison on Saturday, who are coming off a 68-62 come-from-behind victory over Lehigh on Wednesday.  Â
• Bucknell sits in sole possession of first place in the league with a 7-2 mark.
• The Raiders and Bison will go head-to-head for their 104th all-time meeting. Bucknell holds the 62-41 record advantage.
• Colgate took the earlier meeting this season 68-62 at home after Sherman-Newsome put up a game-high 24 points.
