SANTA BARBARA, CALIF. – Colgate sophomore
Ethan Kutler made it four goals in four games after notching the Raiders' lone goal Friday night in a tough 4-1 loss to UC Santa Barbara.
Kutler has now tallied a goal in each of the Raiders four games this season, making him Colgate's top goalscorer on the year.
The Gauchos converted on two penalty kicks within a seven-minute span to take a 2-0 lead 50 minutes into the game.
A little more than 15 minutes later, however, the Raiders cut UCSB's advantage in half after Kutler bent in a shot off a free kick to the lower left-hand corner of the goal. The kick was given to the Raiders following a Gauchos' yellow card just outside the box. The Lansing, New York, native saw an opportunity and placed it perfectly around UCSB's wall and into the back of the net.
Unfortunately, the Gauchos registered two unanswered goals in the closing 25 minutes securing themselves the victory.
The Raiders close out their road swing and trip out west on Sunday when they head to Loyola Marymount for a game with the Lions beginning at 1 p.m. (PT).
