Colgate Outshoots No. 25 Boston U.

Raiders Fall to Terriers 2-0; Schilling Led all Players with Three Shots

BOSTON – Colgate men's soccer held No. 25 Boston University without a shot on goal for more than 54 minutes but it wasn't enough as the Raiders fell 2-0 on Wednesday night.

Colgate posted four shots to the Terriers' one after the opening 45 minutes but couldn't slide one past BU's Nick Thomson.

One of those attempts came from the foot of Zach Pagani 15 minutes into the game. Colgate played a great through-ball in behind the Terriers back line for Pagani to run onto. The sophomore collected the ball and tried to chip Thomson, who was coming out to make the save, but his shot bounced just wide of the target.

The Terriers then tallied two goals in a little more than a five-minute span to take the advantage with 30 minutes remaining in the game.

Despite four more opportunities on net from Colgate, including a rip from Tanner Schilling outside the 18-yard box that sailed just wide of the right post, the Raiders were unable to find the equalizing markers.

Colgate is back in action Saturday hosting Lehigh at 4 p.m. for senior day.  The game is scheduled for Beyer-Small '76 Field.

"We must put this behind us and prepare for Lehigh."
