HAMILTON, N.Y. (5/9/2012) – Colgate women's basketball assistant coach Ali Mann has chosen to return to her alma mater Bowling Green State University.

"It has been a pleasure working with Ali this season," stated head coach Nicci Hays Fort. "I know this was a hard decision for her and I appreciate what she has done for me and the Colgate women's basketball program. We wish her the best of luck."

Mann returns to BGSU after spending the 2011-12 season as an assistant coach at Colgate.  Under coach Hays Fort, the Raiders won five games in Patriot League play this season, the most since 2009-10, including wins over Navy and Holy Cross. The win over the Crusaders was the first since the 2005-06 season. The Raiders also had two student-athletes receive All-Patriot League honors as senior Tricia Oakes was named to the second team and freshman Missy Repoli earned All-Rookie team honors.

“This was one of the toughest decisions I have had to make,” said Mann. “This was an opportunity to be closer to my family. I am going to miss Coach Hays, the players and the great people at Colgate."

A four-year starter at BGSU, Mann helped Curt Miller's program return to the top of the Mid-American Conference. The Falcons won MAC regular-season and tournament titles in each of her final three seasons, and won a pair of NCAA Tournament games against Oklahoma State and Vanderbilt in 2007, becoming the first MAC women's team to advance to the Round of 16.

Mann officially begins her duties as an assistant coach at BGSU on May 23.
