Chris Johnson set a new meet record in the 5,000-meter run to lead the Colgate men's track and field team at the Sam Howell Invitational on Friday at Princeton University.
Johnson won the 5000-meter title with a personal record time of 14:05.33, which was also new meet record, passing the previous time of 14:07.34 set by Dan Chenoweth of Harvard in 2008. Johnson's time ranks third on the Colgate record board and first in the Patriot League this season.
The Raiders return to the track next weekend when they travel to Army for a five-team meet at Shea Stadium. The meet is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
