Women's Basketball Hosts Navy on Senior Day

The Colgate women's basketball team will head to West Point on Wednesday, Feb. 15 for a Patriot League battle with the Black Knights of Army. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. The Raiders will return home for Senior Night to host the Mids from Navy on Saturday, Feb. 18. Both will be streamed live on Patriot League All-Access.

LAST TIME OUT
Freshman Missy Repoli led the Raiders with 17 points as the Colgate women's basketball team avenged a early-season double overtime loss to Lehigh with its third Patriot League victory 77-71 Saturday afternoon at Cotterell Court. Both teams wore pink during the game as part of the WBCA "Play 4Kay" initiative to raise awareness for breast cancer.

All five starters scored in double-figures for the first time this season as Tricia Oakes added 14 points and eight rebounds while Candice Green dropped in 13 points and a game-high five assists. Jhazmine Lynch added 12 points to go along with five rebounds, while Kelly Korkowski recorded her first double-double of the season with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

SCOUTING ARMY (12-13, 6-4)
Army junior guard Anna Simmers led all players with 22 points and junior guard Molly Yardley helped engineer a late rally, but the Black Knights could not overcome Navy's long range shooting in a 57-50 "Star" game loss in front of a record-crowd of 5,189 on Saturday afternoon at Christl Arena.

Both teams entered the game riding three-game win streaks and in a three-way tie with Lehigh for second place in the Patriot League standings.

Army (12-13, 6-4 Patriot League) trailed 52-42 with under a minute to play and out-scored its rival counterpart 8-3 down the stretch. Navy (14-10, 7-3) did not score a field goal over the final two minutes, but used seven free throws to seal the victory.

SCOUTING NAVY (14-10, 7-3)
Erin Edwards drilled four second half three-point field goals to help the Navy women's basketball team rally from a six-point deficit to Army and defeat the Black Knights, 57-50, in the annual Star/Army-Navy Trophy Game between the two service academies at Christl Arena in West Point, N.Y.

THE SERIES AGAINST ARMY
This will be the 51st meeting between Colgate and Army, with the Black Knights leading the all-time series 31-19. Army won the first matchup this season 61-54 in Hamilton. Colgate's last win in the series came during the 2009-10 season, when the Raiders won on Cotterell Court 61-47.

THE SERIES AGAINST NAVY
This will be the 47th meeting between Colgate and Navy, with the Mids leading the all-time series 29-17. Navy took the first meeting this season 61-52 in Annapolis. Colgate won the first game last season 59-55 in Annapolis.

WELCOME TO MY BLOCK PARTY
Senior forward Kelly Korkowski is moving up the Colgate women's basketball record books. Korkowski is currently fifth with all-time with 83 blocks, trailing Lorelei Grosskurth by two for fourth. Senior Tricia Oakes is also moving up as she currently sits sixth all-time with 78.

800-500 CLUB
Senior Tricia Oakes recently became just the fifth Raider to score 800 or more points and grab 500 or more rebounds in a career. Oakes currently has 869 points and 523 rebounds. 

THREE FOR ALL
Senior Candice Green has made 85 career three pointers, which places her seventh all-time in the Colgate record books. Green is just 16 shy of becoming the seventh Raider to make 100 or more three-pointers in a career.

A LITTLE ASSISTANCE
Candice Green is also moving up the record books in assists with 243. She is just 17 helpers behind Megan Ballard for 10th all-time at Colgate. Green is currently averaging 3.4 assists per game this season, which ranks fourth in the Patriot League.

RAIDERS LOVE THE CHARITY STRIPE
The Colgate women's basketball team currently ranks second in the Patriot League in free-throw's by making 72.3 percent from the foul line, only trailing Lehigh by 0.1 percent. Junior guard Jhazmine Lynch is fourth in Patriot League free throw percentage shooting 74% from the foul line.

UP NEXT
Colgate will host Lafayette on Wednesday, Feb. 22. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. at Cotterell Court and will be streamed live on Patriot League All-Access.
