Lacrosse Game Central
HAMILTON, N.Y. (4/21/11) – The No. 16/16 Colgate men's lacrosse team will host Patriot League foe No. 12/12 Bucknell in a battle for the regular-season title and the No. 1 seed as the host team for the 2011 Patriot League Tournament that will take place next weekend.
The game will be televised on the CBS Sports Network.
Colgate (9-3, 5-0 PL) is coming off an 11-10 win over Lafayette on Saturday. Senior

The team will honor its eight seniors during the game as they compete in their final regular-season home game of their collegiate careers. The seniors include

SCORING LEADERS
Baum, who is second in the league in goals per game (2.58) and points per game (3.42), leads the team with 41 points from a career-high 31 goals and 10 assists. He is also ranked fifth in the nation in goals per game and is 13th in points per game, courtesy of his 12-game point streak, having recorded at least one point in every game this season. Following Baum is Mould who has 22 points off 19 goals and three assists while McCabe, who has a .432 shot percentage that is ranked 17th nationally, is third with 16 goals and four assists for 20 points.
LEAGUE STANDINGS
The winner of this game will claim the No. 1 seed and host the 2011 Patriot League Tournament as the regular-season champion next weekend. As the No.1 seed the winner will face the No. 4 seed, which will either be Lehigh or Army, depending on this weekend's results.
THE SERIES
Bucknell leads the all-time series with the Raiders 18-10. Since the teams first met in 1979, Colgate has won five of the 12 meetings at home for a 5-7 home record. The Raiders' last win was in 2008 and their last home victory was in 2007. The Bison have won the last two meetings, most recently in the 2010 season when they won 8-7 in overtime and clinched the final spot in the league tournament over Colgate. This season, the teams are competing for the regular-season title.
SCOUTING #12/12 BUCKNELL
The Bison (11-2, 5-0 PL) are coming off a 12-11 win over Lehigh last weekend. The team, which was picked to finish third in league's preseason poll, has wins against Canisius, No. 20 Villanova, Navy, Hobart, Hartford, Lafayette, No. 16 Albany, No. 20 Penn State, Holy Cross and No. 13 Army. Bucknell's only two losses this season were to No. 14 Penn and Robert Morris.
The team, which is also on a five-game winning streak, is led by seniors Ryan Klipstein and Mike Danylyshyn. Klipstein leads the team with 40 points from 25 goals and 15 assists while Danylyshyn has 14 goals and 15 assists for 29 points. In goal Bucknell sports sophomore Kyle Feeney who leads the league in goals against average (7.33) and is second in save percentage (.544). The Bison lead the league in man-up goals per game (1.69) and are second in groundballs per game (28.92), shots per game (35.08) and man-up scoring (.373).
MOOSE ON THE FIELD
Senior
Jim Carroll, otherwise known as "Moose" because of his strength and aggressive play in faceoffs and when he is running, leads the team with a 120-212 faceoff record for a .566 faceoff win percentage. He is second in the league and is ranked 16th nationally in faceoff win percentage and is second in the league and is currently ranked 9th in program history for most faceoffs won in a season with 120. Carroll also leads the team with 60 groundballs this season and is ranked 21st nationally in groundballs per game (5.00).
DEFENDING THE NET
Junior
Jared Madison has started all 12 games for the Raiders, playing all but eight minutes this season. Named the Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week on March 14, Madison is ranked 16th in the country in goals-against average (7.85) and is third in the league in save percentage (.537) and saves per game (9.00).
RAIDERS' STATS
Colgate leads the league in penalty-killing percentage (.732), has the fewest turnovers per game (14.58) and is second in shot percentage (.298) and faceoff percent (.544). The Raiders are also ranked 9th nationally in win percentage (.750), 14th in scoring defense (7.83) and are 20th in man-down defense (.732) and in shot percentage.
BAUM MAKES TOP-25 TEWAARTAN AWARD LIST
Baum was recently named a 2011 Tewaaraton Award nominee as one of the top-25 male athletes from a watch list of over 100 athletes that was released at the beginning of March. He is one of three men's lacrosse players selected as a nominee from the Patriot League. The other two were Jeremy Boltus and Garret Thul from Army. The nominees include the top lacrosse players across all three divisions of collegiate lacrosse and highlight the early hopefuls for the 2011 Tewaaraton Award honors. The list will eventually be whittled down to the top-10 male and female Tewaaraton Award Finalists that will be named in May.
The Tewaaraton Award was formally established in August of 2000 by The University Club of Washington, D.C. and is the pre-eminent lacrosse award, which is awarded annually to the NCAA male and female lacrosse players of the year. The 11th annual Tewaaraton Award will be presented on June 2, 2011 at the historical Warner Theatre in Washington, D.C.
PATRIOT LEAGUE PRESEASON POLL
Colgate was selected to finish fourth in the Patriot League Preseason Poll that was released on Jan. 26. Defending champion, Army, was picked to finish first with 78 points and 12 first-place votes. Following the Black Knights was last season's runner-up, Navy, with 58 points and one first-place vote and Bucknell with 51 points and one first-place vote as well. The Raiders rounded out the top four with 39 points, while Lehigh (31), Lafayette (30) and Holy Cross (13) had the final three spots. Army seniors Jeremy Boltus and Bill Henderson were selected as the Patriot League Preseason Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year.
