HAMILTON, N.Y. (4/10/11)
– Senior Nicole Siedhof and freshman Tera Vaughn drove in five runs apiece to help the Raiders complete the weekend sweep of Bucknell on Sunday at Eaton Street Field. Colgate won the first game 9-0, before topping the Bison 5-4 in the second game to stay unbeaten in Patriot League play.

In the first game, Colgate (17-12, 8-0) jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning off two sacrifice flies from Siedhof and Vaughn and then added a run in the second off a home run by Emmie Dolfi to make the score 3-0. The Raiders then doubled their lead in the third inning off an RBI single from Vaughn followed by a two-run homer by Siedhof to make it 6-0. Colgate then scored three more times in the sixth inning capped off by Siedhof's second two run blast of the day to make the final score 9-0 through six innings of action.

Rachel LeCoq completed her second shutout of the season and won her 11th game by allowing six hits and striking out four in six innings.

In the second game, the Raiders scored one run second and added another in the top half the fourth, off a homer by Stephanie Hartquist, to build a 2-0 lead. The home run by Hartquist was her third of the weekend series and fourth on the season.

Bucknell (8-26, 1-7) answered back in the bottom of the fourth with three runs off two hits and two Colgate errors to take a 3-2 lead. But the lead didn't last that long as Vaughn hit a two-run homer in the top of the fifth to give Colgate a 4-3 lead. Colgate then took advantage of a couple of errors by Bucknell in the top of seventh inning to build its lead to 5-3, before the Bison added a run in the bottom half to make the final 5-4.

Courtney O'Connell pitched seven strong innings allowing seven hits and two earned runs while striking out four to claim her sixth win of the season. Siedhof finished day the hitting 4-for-6 with two homers and five RBI, while Vaughn went 3-for-7 with one homer and five RBI. Siedhof now has seven home runs on the season and 16 in her career, which ranks sixth all-time at Colgate.

The Raiders outscored Bucknell 22-8 over the weekend and are 8-0 in Patriot League play for the first time since the 2007 season.

Colgate will be back in action on Thursday, April 14 when it travels to Binghamton for a double-header against the Bearcats. The first game is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. at the Varsity Field.
