Men's Basketball Falls to Maryland at Comcast Center

– Maryland sophomore forward Jordan Williams recorded his eighth straight double-double of the season to help lead the Terps past Colgate 95-40 Tuesday night at the Comcast Center.

The Raiders were led by senior captain Joe Hoban (West Chester, Pa.) who recorded his fifth double-digit performance of the season with 10 points, while junior forward Yaw Gyawu (Lilburn, Ga.) and freshman guard Pat Moore (Utica, N.Y.) pitched in eight points apiece.

Colgate (1-12) was able to grab 2-0 lead after Moore made the first shot of the game, but the Raiders then missed their next 15 shots as Maryland opened a 22-2 lead with 10:43 remaining in the first half. Colgate scored eight of the next 13 points to trim the Terps lead to 27-10, but Maryland responded by closing the half with a 16-7 run to take a 43-17 lead.

Maryland (10-4) opened the second half with a 10-5 run to build a 53-22 lead. The Raiders would respond with an 8-3 run to make the score 56-30 with 12:56 remaining, but the Terps closed the game with a 39-10 run to win their ninth straight non-conference home game.

Colgate will open Patriot League play when it hosts Army on Saturday, Jan. 8. The game is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. and can be seen live on Patriot League All-Access.
