WEST POINT, N.Y. (4/3/10) – Army's Tyler Oates scored 1:38 into the first overtime session to top Colgate 11-10, Saturday afternoon at Michie Stadium. The loss marked the second-straight overtime loss for the Raiders.
After trailing 8-7, Colgate scored three-consecutive goals to open the fourth quarter and build a 10-8 lead with 9:30 remaining, the Black Knights then responded with two of their own, including the game tying goal with 1:51 remaining in regulation to force overtime.

Ben McCabe (Brunswick, Maine) and sophomore
Patrick Campbell (Massapequa, N.Y.) led Colgate with three points apiece while junior
Rob Bosco (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.) and freshman
Peter Baum (Portland, Ore.) each recorded two.
Campbell scored the first goal of the game and assisted on another to help give Colgate a 4-3 lead through the first quarter. Baum assisted Campbell's goal at the 13:04 mark. After an Army goal the Raiders scored a pair of unassisted goals by seniors
Ian Murphy (Constantia, N.Y.) and
Mark Kinney (Summit, N.J.) to take a 3-1 lead with 6:47 remaining. Both teams then exchanged goals, including McCabe's first of the game off an assist from Campbell, to finish the opening period.
The Black Knights scored the first two goals of the second quarter to take their first lead of the game 5-4, but Colgate was able to close the half with three goals of its own to take a 7-5 lead into intermission. Bosco scored his first of the game with 3:47 remaining and was immediately followed by Campbell, who scored his second of the game at the 3:33 mark. Senior
Michael Crown (Winnetka, Ill.) would end the half with his third goal of the season to give Colgate a two-goal cushion.
The Black Knights scored three consecutive goals, and held Colgate scoreless in the third quarter to take an 8-7 lead.
The Raiders responded with three goals to begin the fourth quarter from Bosco, Baum and McCabe to take a 10-8 lead, but it wasn't enough as Army would battle back to force overtime.
Sophomore
Jared Madison (Lawrenceville, N.J.) tallied 11 stops in the loss for Colgate, while Tom Palesky saved 11 for Army.
Colgate won the groundball battle 29-28, but was outshot 39-35.
Colgate returns to action next Saturday (April 10) against Lehigh. The game is set to begin at 7 p.m., and will be aired live on CBS College Sports.
