KISSIMMEE, FL (3/17/2010) –
Emmie Dolfi (Pleasant Valley, N.Y.) provided a game-winning sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh to pace Colgate to an impressive 8-7 victory over Green Bay in its second game of the day at the Rebel Games, Wednesday.  The Raiders edged Columbia 3-2 in the opener.

Colgate, which upped its record to 11-3 overall, led 7-4 heading into the top of the seventh when the Phoenix used two hits and two Raider errors to plate the tying runs.  However, Colgate opened the bottom of the seventh with a single by Stephanie Hartquist (Homer, N.Y.).  With one out, Nicole Siedhof (Canton, Pa.) belted a double to right center to advance Hartquist to third.  The Phoenix followed by intentionally walking Natalie Siedhof (Canton, Pa.) to load the bases for Dolfi.  The freshman launched a sacrifice to deep right center to plate the game winner.

Green Bay, which fell to 7-3 overall, jumped out to a 2-0 lead in its part of the first inning.  In the bottom of the inning, the Raiders sent nine batters to the plate and erupted for five runs.  Nicole Siedhof highlighted the inning with a two-run homer, her second of the year.

After the Phoenix pulled within 5-4 with one in the fourth and another in the fifth, the Raiders responded with a two-run sixth.  After Amanda Zranchev (Budd Lake, N.J.) led off with a single, Melissa Babb-Renta (Glenview, Ill.) sent a fly ball to the outfield, where the left fielder dove to try to make the catch.  The ball didn't touch the outfielder and rolled to the fence.  The senior raced around the bases for a two-run inside the park homer.  Colgate led 7-4 heading to the seventh.

Michelle Hollebeke (North Reading, Mass.), who entered the contest in the seventh, moved to 6-1 on the season by getting the final three outs made by the Phoenix.  Babb-Renta, Hartquist, Nicole Siedhof and Zranchev each tallied two-hit performances versus Green Bay.  Three of the Phoenix seven runs were unearned as Colgate committed seven errors in the victory.

In the opener versus Columbia, the Lions broke out on top 1-0 in the first.  Colgate got the equalizer in the top of the third as Brittany Hanrahan (Frankfort, Ill.) and Nicole Siedhof roped back-to-back two-out doubles.

The Raiders moved ahead with a two-run top of the sixth.  After Zranchev reached on an error to open the frame, Colgate moved her over with consecutive sacrifice bunts.  The sophomore raced in from third on a passed ball.  Jennifer Ortega (Aberdeen, N.J.) then scored from third on an error on the ensuing play to give the Raiders some much needed insurance.

Columbia pulled within one in the bottom of the inning by scoring an unearned run.  With the bases loaded, Hollebeke fanned the final batter to keep the Raiders in front.

The Lions, who fell to 1-10 overall, got the tying run on base in the form of a one-out single.  Hollebeke induced two consecutive grounders to second to end the game.

Hollebeke allowed one earned run, and two hits while fanning three batters over seven innings.

Colgate will have the day off Thursday and will return to action Friday as it squares off with St. Peters at 11 a.m. followed by Fairleigh Dickinson at 1 p.m.
