HAMILTON, N.Y. (11/06/10)
– The Colgate women's ice hockey team dropped its second game of the weekend on Saturday evening, as the Raiders fell to No. 10 Harvard 3-1 at Starr Rink. Despite having the early lead, the team was unable to secure their second win in ECAC Hockey play.

Colgate  (3-7, 1-3 ECAC) got on the board first at the 12:33 mark of the first period, when senior Hannah Milan (Great Barrington, Mass.) passed the puck from the corner up to sophomore Brittany Phillips (Lauder, Man,) who then slid a pass that hit a Harvard stick, somehow found its way to sophomore Jenna Klynstra (Edmonton, Alta.) at the far post and she jammed it home for the 1-0 lead.

In the second frame things turned around with the Crimson outshooting Colgate 13-5 and finding a much-needed goal from Kate Buesser at the 12:30 mark, to even the score at 1-1 going into the third period.

Both teams came out looking for goal in the final frame. However, it was Harvard that found its wish, converting back-to-back goals at the 5:14 and 10:43 marks in the final 20 minutes of play to win its second game of the season. The first came from Kalley Armstrong who was able to capitalize off a rebound and the second was from Leanna Coskren. She connected on a pass from Katharine Chute and fired it into the net.

Junior Kimberly Sass (East Amherst, N.Y.) had 31 saves in the game, while Harvard's Laura Bellamy had 20.

Colgate will continue its seven-game homestand next weekend when it hosts Niagara in a two-game set beginning on Friday at 3 p.m. at Starr Rink.
